If you hire for a school, then you know how complicated education recruitment can be. When you have many applications, following strict hiring processes and guidelines is burdensome. Shortlisting can be the most arduous part of education recruitment. Teams can feel overwhelmed and struggle evidencing fair shortlisting processes.

We’re introducing customisable criteria so you can pick, choose and edit. Once you build your scorecard and launch a vacancy, your team cannot edit the scorecard. You treat every applicant the same when shortlisting.

You can answer each criterion four ways:

  • not evidenced

  • unsatisfactory

  • satisfactory

  • outstanding

You score every applicant against the same standard, evidencing fairness. Customise the scorecard based on role, regardless if you’re hiring a teacher, office staff or SLT.

There is no need to print out and share applications with your shortlisting panel. Team members can view an application and complete the corresponding scorecard. They can do this from separate devices, separate rooms or even separate schools at the same time.

The scorecard records:

  • Who answered

  • When they answered

  • How they have scored an application

  • Any extra notes they have added

The system then averages the scores to present a single grading of the application.

Shortlisting is faster, less burdensome and more collaborative.

Easier to evidence compliance

If you’re based in the UK and work in education recruitment, you must follow KCSIE guidelines. You should “ensure that at least two people carry out the shortlisting exercise”.

Scorecard shows how many users have completed the shortlisting scorecard. You see how users scored an applicant and their extra commentary. When inspected, you can evidence that your shortlisting process meets local guidelines.
